Overview
QuietScore is designed with privacy at its core. Your measurement data stays on your device. We don't collect personal information, and we don't sell data to anyone.
Data Storage
All measurement data — Sound Isolation Scores, room names, frequency analysis, and measurement history — is stored locally on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded to our servers or any cloud service. If you delete the app, your data is permanently removed from the device.
Analytics
We use TelemetryDeck for privacy-friendly analytics: anonymous counts of which features get used and whether measurements finish, so we can see what to improve. Your audio, your measurements, your room names and your reports are never sent.
We collect no names, email addresses or account details, and TelemetryDeck never stores IP addresses. Installations are told apart by a one-way hash: your device's vendor identifier is combined with a value unique to QuietScore and hashed on your device before anything is sent, then hashed again by TelemetryDeck. It cannot be reversed to identify you or your device, cannot be matched against you in any other app, and changes if you delete and reinstall QuietScore.
You can switch analytics off at any time in the app — Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Usage Data. With it off, QuietScore sends nothing at all. Data already received is aggregated and deleted by TelemetryDeck at the end of its retention window; because it is not linked to you, neither we nor TelemetryDeck can single out one installation's history.
This website is separate from the app. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies, without fingerprinting and without storing anything on your device — so there is no banner to dismiss and nothing to opt out of. Our links to the App Store carry a campaign tag that tells us which of our pages sent someone there; Apple reports that back only as anonymous totals, and only once enough people have used a link.
Microphone Access
QuietScore requires microphone access to measure sound levels during testing. Audio is processed in real-time on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. The app does not listen for or recognize speech, music, or other content.
Motion Sensors
The app uses your device's accelerometer during measurement to detect if the phone moves (which could affect accuracy). Motion data is processed in real-time and is not stored or transmitted.
Bluetooth & AirPlay
QuietScore connects to your Bluetooth or AirPlay speaker to play test tones. The app uses standard A2DP (Bluetooth) or AirPlay audio streaming. No data about your speakers or connected devices is collected or transmitted.
In-App Purchases
Subscriptions are handled entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or App Store account details.
PDF Reports
PDF reports are generated locally on your device. When you share a report (via email, AirDrop, or other methods), it goes directly from your device to the recipient — it does not pass through our servers.
Third-Party Services
The only third-party service integrated into the QuietScore app is TelemetryDeck for anonymous analytics. The app uses no advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or other third-party data collection tools. This website's analytics are described above.
Children's Privacy
QuietScore is a utility tool that stores its data locally and is not directed at children. We collect no names, contact details or account information from anyone. The only data that leaves your device is the anonymous usage analytics described above, which you can switch off in the app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
